In Stitches and Scars, Kate enters the story realing from the heartbreak of her beat friend breaking up with her. When she meets a man who reawakens her senses, she must decide whether or not to let him into her life and risk being hurt again.

Stitches and Scars was very enjoyable to read. I liked that Ethan, Kate's love interest, is patient with her when he learns that she is still recovering from heartache, but there are times where he makes decisions without talking to Kate, like he thinks he knows better than her what she wants. Luckily, that does not last very long, and then we get to enjoy their relationship progressing.

I thought the way they kept running into each other in the beginning was slightly unrealistic, but it made for a fun plot. I enjoyed reading about Kate and Ethan getting to know each other, and their friends were a riot. The group as a whole seemed to be a fun and very supportive bund.

The little subplot of Kate's best friend Elle falling in love with her own love interest was fun, and their similar yet sometimes clashing personalities were amusing. Trent was a good match for her.

There were hints of danger in the book, though small, and the 'villains' made for entertaining reading. I really liked this book, and I would read it again.

On an artistic note, the cover for Stitches and Scars is one of my favorites. I love the simplicity of it and seeing how the images tie into the plot. The back cover is actually my favorite: I love the tree, and the font and placement of the blurb is very appealing to me. In my opinion, this publisher, Omnific Publishing, has some of the best covers.

Stitches Scars Elizabeth Vincent 9781936305179 Books Reviews

LOVE this book!!!….. I couldn't put down….It was funny but it has some sad parts to....Gotta have a happy ending!
I bought this book, because it was recommended for me from other books that I have previvously read. However, because the cover (I know I know how the saying goes) anyway I was turned off by the cover and it took me a few weeks to actually bring myself to read it. When I did though, I couldn't put it down.
This book is about bestfriends, and how peoples lives are incomplete without a good friend. It also, follows two couples as they struggle with the awkwardness, egos, and pride that goes along with dating.
This is a good book and is definitely worth the read. But don't be like me wait several weeks before discovering this treasure.
Kudos to the author for writing a fun, lighthearted love story. The characters were great and everything flows nicely throughout the story. I really enjoyed reading this story and laughing along the way.
As a huge chicklit fan, I was disappointed with this book. I had to force myself to finish it. There are very funny scenes in this book, and some butterflies, but it is annoying when everyone always gets married after only a few months of dating. It's just that kind of book. I would have liked to see more background on the characters.

Additionally, the mix of third-person and first-person writing was confusing.
Wasn't very good. Characters were not very believable. Slow and not very exciting. Overall disappointing. I had high hopes when I started and finished because I hate leaving a book but it was a waste of time.
A feel good story with a little angst put in. Please don't get me started on Scott. I know his kind and I want to rip his head off and feed it to sharks. Logan, Trent, Sophie, and Elle what are best friends for? Kate and Ethan need to remember to communicate better. Easy breezy, read.
A quick summer read or something to curl up and smile through. Just a light romance with the usual drama here and there, nothing too angsty. I love the characters because they were fun and flirty, what I didn't like is it seemed too "sex in the city" for my liking. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a beach book or something to pass time on a road trip.
